After over a year and half of using this blog primarily as a business site for my spirituality coaching services, I have decided to honor the blog’s own particular flavor while also making it more of a resource for those on a spiritual journey. As you know, if you have been searching, there are innumerable paths to pursue (such as the development of your own unique way) and/or follow (as in the guidance of others). Any site that is a collection of links, writings, and multimedia develops a certain tone by mere fact of its editing and selections. I have many links to such sites on this blog. I have observed that this “pull” toward its own tone has been taking place over time on my blog and rather than try and retain the eclectic that is vast (so as to welcome anyone and that I still want to maintain for purposes of support), it would be more helpful and reassuring to seekers to have a better feel of where I come from. So with this consideration, the links on the left will be realigned, my personal writing less eclectic (which I did to establish that I am comfortable working with numerous paths – which I am, by the way), etc. In short, the site will be more of a narrative of my personal direction. I don’t want this blog to be about me per se, but rather to reflect for those who are searching a possibly-clearer portrait of the path that I have found and continue to pursue. I think this will allow others who need to get their bearing while in transition to borrow what I’ve collected over the past years until they are able to solidify their own. It might also allow others of kindred persuasions to connect and share.
Until this blog focus shift is officially done I offer you three links that will eventually be incorporated. The first is a daily news blog on things of religious content. The second is an episode in the National Geographic and National Public Radio series on climate change. After reading the face page click on “Listen”. The third has two parts, the first is a photo-essay slide show on soul searching and the second is the accompanying pictures with narrative. This last of the three I’m offering is not so much the direction I personally pursue, but it does explore the less familiar, cross-cultural search for that which is spiritual. To be willing, with discernment, to at least view or learn of other pathways is what I embrace. In fact the reflection on my discomfort when juxtaposed to the new is often more beneficial than whatever it is that I’m learning about.
