It might seem odd to have an author who denounces religion so strongly here on my web site. I believe Harris has thoughts worth considering, and keeps the spiritual pursuit on notice. Though I haven’t, as of yet, read his book The End of Faith, here is another interview by Steve Paulson worth the read.

Some quotes from the above interview:

Therefore, the fundamentalist is always on firmer ground theologically and—I would argue—intellectually than the moderate or the progressive.

This respect for faith, this taboo against criticizing faith, prevents us from saying the necessary things that we must say against religious fundamentalism.

It’s just that all dogmas are not equal and don’t have equal behavioral consequences.
