Spiritual & psychological investigations and journeys are sometimes of our own choosing, and at other times, seemingly brought upon us. But they often lead us into the previously- unknown. Depending on how we work with these occurrences, we can be further confirmed, or even entrenched, in our former way of being. Or we may be expanded in our awareness and, often, in our available options. This second path is most often associated with growth. But because we might not know where the course is leading, the unfamiliarity can benefit from a guiding hand. For those who are already a fair distance from what they called home, there can be a feeling of exile and grief. In this place they may just need the support and encouragement of a safe, nonjudgmental sojourner. Those desiring a zealous quest in the spiritual/psychological realm will frequently be dealing with the perennial philosophy of “losing oneself to find oneself” and, in the course of things, deepen their connection to something larger.
